Medical Assistant Paid Training Program at Swedish Medical Group

The Medical Assistant (MA) training program (Medical Assistant-Registered to Medical Assistant-Certified) is structured to include the following components:
Clinical Practice: The MA is required to complete 720 hours of clinical practice under the supervision of an MA Preceptor.Coursework: There are 180 hours of coursework in partnership with Stepful that must be completed virtually on your own time. The MA is also required to attend live virtual classes M & Th 6p-9p. This coursework is unpaid.Internal Skills Labs: The MA must participate in internal skills labs, which are essential for hands-on practice and skill development.Additional MA Training Activities: Participation in all other required MA training activities is mandatory.
*Upon successful completion of program requirements and passing the MA certification (MA-C) exam, our new Medical Assistants will be required to apply for open MA-C roles within SMG.*
Job Description:
The Associate Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Basic patient care needs will be met though both administrative and clinical duties. An Associate MA-R is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required qualifications:
Within 60 days of hire Washington Medical Assistant RegistrationWithin 30 days of hire National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
Preferred qualifications:
Coursework/Training and Medical Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, Medical Secretary or Health Unit Coordinator/Clerk; 6 months of Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting.
