The Medical Assistant\/PSR is a unique position that varies daily based on the clinical or clerical staffing needs of the practice. Duties include supporting the physicians and\/or mid-level providers in the practice with clinical activities and direct patient care as well as assisting patients and staff with the administrative and clerical needs of the practice. \n

Roles and Responsibilities: \n\nPerform clinical duties, including taking vital signs and assisting with procedures, in accordance with NYS laws and practice protocols. \nPrepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain clinical supplies. \nManage patient records, including preparation for visits and handling patient inquiries. \nCheck in patients, verify\/update demographics, and obtain necessary signatures and insurance information. \nCollect payments, handle daily cash out, and prepare bank deposits. \nSchedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and manage pre-authorizations. \nProvide call management, including triaging phone calls, prescription refills, and test results. \nParticipate in team meetings, quality improvement activities, and handle patient communication through various channels. \n\n

Required Skills and Experience: \n\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent experience \nDemonstrable customer service skills \nStrong problem solving skills including the demonstrable ability think through issues and define solutions \nExcellent time management and prioritization skills \nMust have prior experience with Microsoft Office as well as strong general computer skills \n\n

Preferred Skills and Experience: \n\nPrior experience with healthcare information systems, specifically Medent, is Preferred \n\n
\n

Physical Requirements: \n\nMust be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods throughout the day \nConstantly operates a computer and various medical technology throughout the day \nRegularly positions self to perform clinical duties and prepare exam rooms \nOccasionally moves equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds within and between rooms in the practice \nPersons in this job may be exposed to communicable diseases through patient care \n\n

Location, Shift and Travel Requirements: \n\nOnsite at 1020 Craft Rd., Ste A\nM-F 8am-4:30pm\n\n

Pay Range Disclosure:\n\n$18 to $22 per hour\n\n
