Why La Jolla Perinatology? * Work alongside leading perinatologists and specialists in maternal-fetal medicine * Contribute to advancing prenatal care and improving outcomes for mothers and babies * Foster long term connections with patients, providing ongoing care that is fulfilling and impactful Your job duties: * Assist perinatologists and other healthcare staff in the assessment, treatment, and management of high-risk pregnancy cases. * Prepare patients and assist perinatologists with examinations, procedures, and ultrasound appointments with thorough attention to patient comfort and confidentiality. * Obtain and record accurate patient medical histories, vital signs, and other pertinent information necessary for patient evaluation and treatment. * Ensure timely and efficient patient flow by coordinating appointments, referrals, and follow-up care. * Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) with detailed and accurate documentation. * Assist in maintaining inventory and stocking of medical supplies and equipment necessary for clinic operations. * Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and patient safety guidelines. * Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinic operations. * Relay instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person. * Document patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review. * Route messages to the appropriate area for direction. * Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications. * Setup of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics. *Required Qualifications:* * Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman. * BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA) *Preferred Qualifications:* * 3 years of OBGYN experience * Perinatology experience **Job:** **Clinical Support* **Organization:** **Scripps Clinic* **Title:** *Medical Assistant - Perinatology - La Jolla* **Location:** *Central San Diego County-LA JOLLA-SCRIPPS CLINIC - LA JOLLA* **Requisition ID:** *252002627*
