Medical Assistant - Perinatology - La Jolla

This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 7:30am-4pm. Hours may vary as needed. Located at Scripps Clinic La Jolla but required to float to Encinitas and Mercy San Diego as needed.

Your job duties:

Assist perinatologists and other healthcare staff in the assessment, treatment, and management of high-risk pregnancy cases.Prepare patients and assist perinatologists with examinations, procedures, and ultrasound appointments with thorough attention to patient comfort and confidentiality.Obtain and record accurate patient medical histories, vital signs, and other pertinent information necessary for patient evaluation and treatment.Ensure timely and efficient patient flow by coordinating appointments, referrals, and follow-up care.Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) with detailed and accurate documentation.Assist in maintaining inventory and stocking of medical supplies and equipment necessary for clinic operations.Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and patient safety guidelines.Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinic operations.Relay instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person.Document patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review.Route messages to the appropriate area for direction.Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications.Setup of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman.BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications:

3 years of OBGYN experiencePerinatology experience

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman.BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications:

3 years of OBGYN experiencePerinatology experience
