Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience within a surgical practice and be familiar with EPIC systems. Reliability and flexibility are key, as travel between multiple office locations will be required.
ResponsibilitiesManage and organize medical records, files, and documents.Coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings, and follow-ups.Handle phone calls, emails, and other correspondence, ensuring timely and accurate communication.Input and update patient information in electronic health records (EHR) systems.Assist with medical billing, coding, and insurance claims processing.Monitor and order office supplies and medical equipment as needed.Essential Skills1+ year of medical assistant experienceExperience with appointment scheduling and electronic health recordsKnowledge of medical terminology, authorizations, and insurance processesStrong administrative skillsTeam player, reliable, and flexibleAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with EPIC systems (preferred but not required)High School Diploma or equivalentGraduation from an accredited medical assistant certificate programCertification or registration as a medical assistantWork Environment
The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, with no weekend work. Shifts may be 4x10 hour days (7:00-5:30) or 5x8 hour days (8:00-4:30), depending on provider schedules. A 30-minute lunch break is included. The dress code requires scrubs, closed-toe shoes, and maintaining a professional demeanor when interacting with patients. This is a fast-paced medical office where reliability and compassion are essential.
****Travel between office locations in Farmington, Glastonbury, Hartford, Plainville, and Avon is necessary, so reliable transportation is required.****
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $15.00 - $21.00
