The Certified Community Behavioral Health Center initiative within Community Healthlink is an agency-wide initiative to increase access to the full range of community behavioral health services and to improve the behavioral health and quality of life of the population of focus in Worcester and Leominster, MA through the certification of CHL as a CCBHC and the expansion of our community behavioral health clinic services that align with both CCBHC certification and the needs of our community
The Medical Assistant in behavior health services provides information, services, and assistance to patients in the outpatient clinic.
Responsibilities:
Provide patient care by assisting with the implementation of care plans.
Interview patients to obtain information and measure their vital signs, weight, height etc.
Prepare treatment rooms keeping them clean and properly stocked.
Prepare a chart for visit
Complete releases of information as needed.
Reconcile medications Automate and perform processes by phone or send letters to patients either overdue for medical care or out of compliance with goals of their care.
Inform the care team if a patient is out of compliance consistently.
Meet regularly with multidisciplinary care team to help create plans for specific patients and populations not achieving optimal care.
Work with other care teams on quality improvement measures and process designs.
Assist with prior authorizations.
Help organize and keep track of Clozaril clients and groups Case management/care coordination.
Performs basic office laboratory procedures such as urinalysis, throat cultures and related procedures.
Perform a variety of clerical duties such as typing, filing scheduling appointments, making phone calls and other related job duties as required are directed.
Maintains records, reports, report logs and other statistical information is required or directed Performs other duties.
Complies with establish division and program policies, procedures, and objectives. Attends a variety of meetings, conferences, and trainings as required directed.
Demonstrates use of quality improvement in daily operations.
Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
Maintains regular and reliable and predictable attendance and maintains confidentiality.
Respects diverse views and approaches and contributes to maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility, and acceptance towards all employees, patients and visitors.
Qualifications:
Grade C02: Medical Assistant I –HSD or equivalent AND Certification in Medical Assisting required
Grade C04: Medical Assistant II –Certification in Medical Assisting required and Associates degree in Medical Assisting or Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
Proficient in data management and reporting
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Access and Excel
