Medical Assistant - Scripps Cancer Center - La Jolla

This is a benefited, full time position working 8-hr shifts Monday-Friday with start times ranging between 7:30-8:30am. Located at the Scripps Cancer Center in La Jolla with travel one half day/month to Encinitas.

Your job duties:

Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with proceduresClinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocolsMaintains a clean, organized, and safe environmentOrganizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practiceRelaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized personCollecting patient data in person and by phoneDocumenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's reviewPerform blood drawsScheduling of appointments and proceduresComplete and accurate message takingRouting messages to the appropriate area for directionOrder and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certificationsSetting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsmanBLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

One year of experience as a MA in an outpatient setting preferred.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsmanBLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)
