Job Description

Are you the kind of person who thrives on staying organized, loves helping others, and knows how to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes? Do you have a knack for multitasking and a passion for healthcare? If so, we want YOU to join our amazing team as a Surgical Scheduling Coordinator!

As the first point of contact for patients and providers, you’ll be the voice and face of our surgical team—helping to make sure everything flows seamlessly from scheduling to surgery. Think of yourself as the backstage pass holder to life-changing procedures, working hand-in-hand with clinic nurses, physicians, and our perioperative team to make the magic happen.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Serving as a front-line representative of Truman Medical Center (your smile is part of the job!)

Managing case scheduling requests—via email, electronic systems, or good ol’ paperwork

Coordinating with nurses, doctors, and perioperative scheduling to ensure surgeries are booked accurately and efficiently

Keeping things organized and problem-solving on the fly like a scheduling ninja

What You Bring to the Table:

High school diploma or equivalent

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program

Active RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) or NRCMA (Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant) certification

(Required for all new hires as of 1/1/2013—and yes, you’ll need to maintain it!)

Current BCLS certification at time of hire (and keep it current!)

Solid knowledge of surgical procedures and medical terminology

Proficiency in Microsoft applications + basic computer skills (Outlook & Excel will be your besties)

Ability to perform POCT, give immunizations, and administer injections

Self-starter vibes—you can prioritize, work independently, and troubleshoot like a pro

Rockstar organizational skills

Top-tier customer service skills—patients and teammates alike should feel the love

If your role involves radiologic functions, you’ll need proof of radiology certification/training from your MA program or completion of a validated radiology competency checklist

Ready to help us make a real difference in patients’ lives—one well-scheduled surgery at a time? Apply today and become part of something meaningful.
