Medical Assistant - Systemwide Resource Services

These are benefited, full time positions generally working Monday-Friday and Saturdays as needed with varied shifts between the hours of 7am-7pm. Located at various Scripps campuses. Receive an additional ~$3/hr for the Scripps Systemwide Resource Services (SSRS) Differential due to the travelling nature of this position within this department.

What you'll do:

Knowing their professional scope of practice as defined by the California Business and Professional Code and for successfully completing the Scripps Clinical Core competency program.Maintaining a clean, organized and safe environment.Organizing and performing patient care services that support the physician's practice, including:Assisting in preparing patients for examination/proceduresAssisting physicians with proceduresRelaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized personCollecting patient data in person and by phoneDocumenting patient concerns, messages, and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's reviewAdministering medications specifically directed by the physicianPerforming vital sign documentationScheduling of appointments and proceduresComplete and accurate message takingRouting messages to the appropriate area for directionOrder and referral entryAcquisition of pre-certificationsSetting up cases in EPICBasic registration and updating of demographics

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsmanBLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)One year of experience working as a Medical Assistant

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years of experience working as a Medical AssistantExperience supporting two or more providersExperience rooming 15 or more patients per day

Required Qualifications:
