**Medical Billing and Collections Specialist** Clinical St Charles, IL, US Pay Rate Low: 20 | Pay Rate High: 23 + Added - 26/12/2024 Apply for Job **_Our client is a specialist in clinical and diagnostic testing. They are seeking a medical billing and collections specialist to join their growing team!_** **Location:** St. Charles, IL **Pay:** $20 - $23/hr **Schedule:** M-F 9a – 5:30p (fully onsite) **Responsibilities:** + Reach out to doctor’s offices to obtain necessary information for accurate billing and claim processing. + Pursue collection of third-party patient accounts by phone and form letters. + Send form letters to accounts based on the collection cycle as outlined in the procedures. + Contact insurance companies for claim status if necessary. + Address incoming calls from patients regarding their accounts, resolving any billing questions or concerns. + Investigate any billing discrepancies. + Monitor Statements. + Establish reasonable payment plans when necessary. + Prepare and submit accounts that are unable to be resolved internally for referral to an external collection agency. + Ensure assigned turnaround time is met for all accounts. + Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable, ensuring alignment with performance expectations and company goals. + Investigate the legitimacy of refund requests to ensure accuracy and proper documentation. **Qualifications:** + High School Diploma OR GED + Minimum three years of medical collection experience preferred. + Knowledge and understanding of Credit and Collections Laws required. + Well organized, professional, and reliable; + Able to work in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy, customer service, thoroughness, and timeliness. + Previous experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) highly preferred. + Familiar with ICD 10 and CPT Coding. **_This job description is a list of the skills we desire but are not all required.
