Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist in Lompoc, California. The selected candidate will be involved in a range of duties including insurance verification, authorization, and patient registration. This role also includes responsibilities related to Accounts Receivable (AR), Benefit Functions, Billing Functions, and Claim Administration. Responsibilities: • Accurately and efficiently process patient registrations • Act as the first point of contact and manage the switchboard/reception • Confirm insurance coverage for patients and attain necessary authorizations • Liaise with other departments or the Director when required to ensure seamless patient care • Undertake any additional tasks as directed by the supervisor • Manage AR functions and maintain accurate billing records • Administer claims and handle billing functions • Utilize Allscripts for various administrative tasks • Oversee benefit functions as part of the role. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Billing Specialist or in a similar role • Proficient in using Allscripts software for medical billing and other related tasks • Demonstrated ability in managing Accounts Receivable (AR) with accuracy and attention to detail • Strong knowledge of Benefit Functions and ability to apply this knowledge in daily operations • Experience in handling Billing Functions, ensuring timely and accurate billing for all patients • Proven experience in Claim Administration, including processing, tracking, and managing medical claims.
