Medical Coder
Description Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Medical Coder to join our team! In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of medical coding for patient records, insurance claims, and billing processes. Key Responsibilities: + Review medical records and patient charts to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems. + Verify the accuracy and completeness of medical documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and payer requirements. + Collaborate with healthcare providers and billing teams to clarify coding discrepancies and ensure proper reimbursement. + Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines, insurance regulations, and compliance standards. + Conduct regular audits to ensure accurate coding practices and identify areas for improvement. + Handle patient information with strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations Requirements Qualifications: + High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced education in health information management is preferred. + Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or related credential required (Source: SG25 US Healthcare.docx). + Prior experience in medical coding, billing, or a related healthcare administrative role. + Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems (e.g., Cerner, Epic) (Source: SG25 US Healthcare.docx). + Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and payer policies. + Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently. + Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
