Medical Collections Specialist
Description We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to join our team in the role of a Medical Collector. This individual will be responsible for managing and recovering out-of-network claims for our infusion services. This vital team member will work closely with our billing department, patients, and insurance companies to ensure recovery efforts are precise and effective. Responsibilities: + Oversee and manage account receivables and collections activities for out-of-network claims. + Work in collaboration with the billing department to validate patient data and insurance coverage details. + Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies, carefully following all the necessary procedures. + Proactively follow up on submitted claims, assess the company's insurance receivables, and monitor for any overdue accounts. + Communicate directly with patients or their responsible parties to negotiate payment plans or to provide education on their outstanding balances and insurance coverage. + Develop and maintain a recovery system to improve collection efforts. + Understand all facets of infusion therapy services to efficiently handle any claim-related inquiries or disputes. + Stay updated on current coding and billing regulations to ensure accurate, compliant claims submissions. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical collections role • Proficiency in Pharmacy Claim handling • Demonstrated experience in Medical Collections • Ability to manage Medical Billing effectively • Knowledge and experience in Infusion • Expertise in handling Medical Denials • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality • Proficient in using medical software and computer systems • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
