This position works collaboratively with purchasing, patient care, ancillary and pharmacy services to ensure appropriate and timely notices to patients. **Essential Key Job Responsibilities** + Communicate and discuss medical supplies/equipment needs with patients. + Answer any medical billing questions for patients. + Research insurance eligibility and coverage/benefits on patients and complete any necessary paperwork and/or submit clinical notes in a timely manner to ensure approval of claims. + Maneuver billing software to make updates to patient, insurance and inventory records. + Keep adequate records while adhering to HIPAA guidelines and regulations. + Professionally communicate with other members of CHI team as well as with internal and external providers. + Identify claims that have not been processed by either insurance or patient. After claim is identified take the next step in payment collection process. + Other duties as assigned by management **Qualifications** **Required Education** _(for CHI Leadership Job Levels from Supervisor through President)_ Does Not Apply **Required Education for Staff Job Levels** none **Required Licensure and Certifications** None required **Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** Ability to utilize computer processing in day to day activities; strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards; good communication skills; strong teamwork skills; must demonstrate personal traits of a high level of motivation; professionalism; trust; and place a high value on treating others with dignity and respect. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc). Knowledge of HCPC, ICD-10, HCFA a plus. Ability to perform non-complex mathematical calculations a must. **PREFERRED Qualifications** High school diploma or GED. A minimum of two years medical supplies and/or billing experience is desirable. Understanding of medical terminology and disease processes are preferred. **Pay Range** $15.00- $20.33 /hour We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
