Medical Director, Medical Affairs, General Medicine

The Medical Director, Medical Affairs, General Medicine will fulfill a meaningful strategic leadership role in the development of medical strategy, planning & execution with the benefit of the patient at the forefront. We ensure medical activities are delivered with integrity and scientific accuracy providing leadership and serving as a key scientific and medical resource.

You are expected to work with our global and US Medical Impact Team (MIT). The Director will represent medical affairs and ensure alignment working closely with research & development, new product planning, access & reimbursement, and patient advocacy colleagues.

A typical day may include:

Developing and responsible for implementation of medical strategy and tactics for General Medicine pipeline assets focusing in CardioMetabolic diseases. This will include: scientific communications and publications, annual medical planning, field communications, and collaborations with experts.

Applying therapeutic/disease area expertise and business understanding addressing current and future medical needs in clinical practice with medically appropriate use of investigational medicines.

Coordinates and provides hands on support in management, generation and dissemination of clinical and non-clinical data supporting our strategy and results in high quality publications.

Works with a cross-functional team and strives for alignment across the organization (and the alliance if applicable)

Supports the design, conduct, oversight, analysis and reporting of Medical Affairs studies when applicable.

Develop and nurture long-term strategic partnerships with clinical experts, societies, collaborative groups, advocacy groups, and other external partners.

Coordinates and conducts advisory board meetings.

Prioritizes for support of investigator-initiated studies as a key member of internal Scientific Review Committees.

This role might be for you if you have the following:

Advanced scientific degree required- M.D., Ph.D., or PharmD with 7+ years of industry experience in medical affairs

Proven background and experience in drug development and life-cycle management

Specialized knowledge: General Medicine and cardiovascular disease indications.

Ability to lead technical and business discussions internally and externally and explain scientific/medical concepts to all levels.

Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with leading medical/scientific experts in the relevant fields.

Detailed understanding of the healthcare environment including all external collaborators.

Salary Range (annually)

$275,200.00 - $372,400.00
