VCA Monte Vista Animal Hospital in Concord, California is seeking a highly experienced Veterinarian to lead our talented team as Medical Director.
Monte Vista was established in 1968 as an AAHA-accredited hospital. Our client base is diverse and astute willing to move forward with doctor recommendations without hesitation. We specialize in preventive care as well as offer emergency and fit-in capability as needs arise.
Our well-appointed hospital includes 4 exam rooms, 1 treatment area, surgery suite and an isolation unit. We have an in-house ultrasound, and digital radiograph technology with viewing station and separate mobile digital dental radiograph technology. Our state-of-the-art equipment consists of all NEW Cardell monitors [2], Bovie cautery, Oxygen cage, suction unit, scale, and surgical lighting. Our support staff features RVT’s, experienced assistants and client service representatives. We are on a trajectory to being fully paperless with Care Planner technology.
Our Medical Director will enjoy our unique relationship with Tony LaRussa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) in Walnut Creek as we provide care to adopted pets in need. Giving back to our community resonates and establishes a long-standing loyal connection.
We offer Full-time/Part-time opportunities and are open 6 days/week. There are no on-call hours as we are fortunate to be within minutes of a few 24/7 urgent care/emergency facilities. The doctor schedule includes 4days/week (Mon-Fri) with a Saturday rotation once/month.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated veterinarian to continue practicing medicine while establishing the direction and medical quality of the hospital like a practice owner. Plus, you'll have the solid backing of experts in Operations, Marketing, Human Resources, Payroll, and more, to help you succeed.
Nestled in the Concord/Clayton area at the base of Mount Diablo there are many local attractions. Our affluent and bedroom communities take pride in the award winning schools with excellent sports teams and boutique shopping and restaurants nearby in a variety of shopping centers. Concerts at the Concord Pavilion are a brisk walk and if you are a horse enthusiast there are several horse ranches on Marsh Creek Road which takes you on a 30 minute Sunday drive to the Delta waterways and several Fruit Stands, sweet white corn and strawberry U-Pick fields in Brentwood. If city and urban sites are your fare, Walnut Creek hosts theatre, brew pubs and a fantastic Farmers Market just 10-15 minutes away, with the bright lights and sights of San Francisco just 30 minutes further. The weather and micro-climates exist ranging from triple digits a few weeks in summer to a breezy cool 60-80’s once through the Caldecott Tunnel entering Berkeley/Oakland.
