Medical Education Manager

The main purpose of the Medical Education Manager is to inspire, lead and develop a national team of Medical Educators (MEs) to implement and deliver our Cardio-Renal-Metabolic Franchise objectives in collaboration with Franchise cross functional teams. To continuously improve & evolve the CRM ME offering resulting in sustained change in HCP clinical practices that result in improved patient care and directly contribute to Boehringer-Ingelheim company objectives.

 

The post holder will primarily be accountable to:

Lead and manage Medical Educator team performance to ensure the delivery of high quality HCP education.Ensure achievement of qualitative & quantitative performance measures for Medical Educator team.Ensure high quality education delivery is designed to change CRM clinical practice and lead to sustainable change in patient care.Continuously seek to identify opportunities for the ME role to evolve it’s resources and interventions in ways that improve our support to HCPs.Ensure the inclusion of budget and tactical components of CRM ICPs allows for the CRM ME role to be sustained and meet HCP needs. Lead and manage individual ME performance to ensure delivery of all aspects of role against role profile.Ensure individual ME development through coaching, review, feedback and training to identify new opportunities for growth within and beyond role.Ensure ME proactively engages local account team members, aligns to health system needs and continuously provides education interventions that advance CRM clinical practice.Ensure CRM ME team maximise omni-channel opportunities to expand ME reach in line with KPIs and Franchise omni-channel objectives.Ensure CRM ME team members achieve & sustain the therapeutic area medical & scientific expertise required to effectively and credibly provide high quality HCP education.Independently lead Medical Educator team performance, maintaining a broad cross functional stakeholder network to ensure ME team integration with local account planning processes.Be accountable for Medical Educator team performance delivery against Medical & Franchise KPIs.Ensure collation and dissemination of qualitative customer feedback to Franchise colleagues.Be accountable for the availability of CRM ME resources that permit MEs to provide education in line with objectives.Be accountable for the availability of other customer facing CRM field medical resources as required by field medical function.Partner with review & signatory colleagues to ensure CRM ME resources are available at all times.

 

Candidates for the CRM Medical Educator Manager role must possess a level of formal education and/or experience in a scientific or clinical discipline that enables them to recognize HCP and health system needs. Subsequently the post holder should be able to design Medical Education interventions that address HCP & health system needs in CRM conditions.

 

Candidates must have at least two years pharmaceutical industry experience, ideally including a customer facing role or a medical affairs capacity.

Candidates must be located within Great Britain to allow them to effectively fulfil the requirements of the role.

Candidates must have experience of or demonstrable examples of coaching & people development skills directly from line management experience or indirectly from other experiences.

 

The CRM Medical Education Manager role requires significant cross functional collaboration to fulfil the role responsibilities:

Ensuring Medical Educator integration with field based cross functional teams.

Ensuring creation, review and certification of field based CRM medical education resources.

The role includes the leadership and management of a specialist team possessing experience & expertise in healthcare provision to patients, as well as expertise in delivering education that translates into change in clinical practice.

The postholder must be able to travel throughout UK & Ireland to fulfil the role, supporting customer facing activities delivered by the Medical Educator team.
