Advanced Practitionerin theMedical Intensive Care Unit& Stepdown TheAdvanced Practitioner in the MedicalIntensive Care Unit& Step Down will jointheDivisionof Pulmonary in ateam of establishedcritical careadvanced practitioners.The advanced practitioner will alsoprovide asaconsultservice for stepdownand medical ICUadmissions in the emergencydepartment.TheAdvanced Practitionersin this groupuse theirextensivecritical careknowledge to providedirectcaretocomplex critically ill patientsrequiringmultiple technologies and advanced life support.  Advanced Practitioners will practice in a collaborative environment with an intensivist, attending physicians, and other highly skilled members of the healthcare team. Advanced practitioners are provided with ongoing medical education, proceduraltrainingand opportunity for growth within the Department ofPulmonary. * Cover MICU and SD for a 24/7 APPrunservice * Consult on patients in the emergencydepartmentrequiring admission to a medical critical care unit * Collaborate with attending pulmonary critical care physicians on daily rounds to formulate complex patient care plans * Perform bedside procedures including but not limitedto:central line placement, arterial line placement, advanced ultrasonography * ACLS/BLS certified * Extensive new graduate onboarding including a4-6 monthorientation with dedicated time for learning in Hartford Hospital Center for Education,Simulationand Innovation   Shift: Days with rotation to nights, weekendsand holidays - 13 hourshifts, 3 Days a week. Advanced Practitioner Requirements: Nurse Practitioners (APRN) positions require National certification in Advanced Practice, MSN, and current CT Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (APRN) certification. Physician Assistants (PA) positions require current CT Physician Assistants (PA) License and Board certification or eligible. All disciplines require the demonstrated ability topositively interactwith medical and nursing staff. Critical Care experience preferred but notrequired. We take great care of careers.
