Responsibilities
As a Medical Instrument Tech (Ultrasound) you will:
Perform a wide variety of complex ultrasound examinations of human patients to aid in the diagnosis of disease or injury.Explain the ultrasound examining process to the patient.Select, set up, adjust, and operate ultrasound equipment.Train personnel in ultrasound principles, procedures, capabilities, techniques and equipment.Perform operator level maintenance and care of equipment. Must be registered with the Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or be registry eligible, take exam and pass, within one year of employment
One year of specialized experience which includes performing a variety of ultrasound examinations on human patients and setting up, adjusting, and/or maintaining ultrasound diagnostic equipment.
OR
Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Sonography or Radiology. A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages. A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
