A place where your talent is recognized, professional development is encouraged and career advancement is possible._** The Medical Technologist must promote good public relations for the department and Northwest Regional Medical Center while maintaining patient/customer confidentiality. **Medical Technologists are responsible for** : + Performs manual and automated routine blood tests. + Prepares specimens for microscope examination. + Operates laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators. + Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. + Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. + Typically reports to supervisor or manager. + Requires graduation from an accredited MT/MLT program and passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, American Medical Technology, or HEW. + Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. **Education / License / Certification:** + Associates or Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science required + 1-5 years experience in field or related area + ASCP preferred **Experience / Skills:** + Able to meet sensory requirements of the job. + Capable of performing all laboratory tests and related calculations. + Able to participate in laboratory Quality Assurance Program + Attention to detail and concentration + Ability to work in fast-paced, ever-changing environment **About Northwest Health** Northwest Health provides inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic imaging, medical, surgical and emergency services to the Bentonville, Springdale, Fayetteville, Johnson and Siloam Springs communities in northwestern Arkansas.
