This position plays a vital role in providing accurate and timely diagnostic testing to support patient care. **Responsibilities** + Perform a wide range of microbiological tests, including: + Bacterial culture and identification + Antimicrobial susceptibility testing + Fungal culture and identification + Parasitological examinations + Molecular diagnostic testing (PCR, etc.) + Prepare and maintain culture media and reagents + Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, incubators, and automated systems + Ensure proper specimen handling and processing + Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests performed + Adhere to strict quality control procedures and safety protocols + Participate in departmental quality assurance activities + Collaborate effectively with other laboratory personnel and clinical staff + Assist with training and mentoring of new staff members **Qualifications** + One year of experience as a Lab Assistant or Technician in a clinical laboratory preferred. + AA degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, including a minimum of 36 semester units of physical or biological science from an accredited college or university + Current CA MLT license.
