About the Unit 

Corewell Health Regional laboratory is a high volume and fast paced work environment with a supportive team. Our lab supports Butterworth Hospital, HDVCH Hospital, Meijer Heart Center, a large outpatient population, and acts a reference lab for our smaller regional hospital labs. We have a great environment to develop and sharpen technical and theory-based skills. This position supports Chemistry, Urinalysis, Hematology, Coagulation, and the possibility of Blood Bank. 

 

About Hospital  

Corewell Health Regional Lab serves many types of patients and providers. Located on the Butterworth campus, we serve inpatients from Butterworth (including Level 1 Trauma Center), Meijer Heart Center, and Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. We also serve many outpatient draw sites and offices. We also support more complex testing for many associated Corewell Health regional hospitals.   

 

Scope of work  

Performs, interprets and correlates clinical laboratory tests by following departmental protocols to assist in physician diagnosis and treatment. Prepares specimens for testing, screens patient specimens, and analyzes patient specimens for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Performs quality control procedures and assists in maintaining an efficient and effective laboratory operation.

Qualifications   

Bachelor’s Degree in related field  required 

1 year relevant experience in related field is preferred  

ASCP MT or MLS, AMT MT, or AACC CT required upon hire
