Medical Laboratory Scientist

The position is responsible for professional Medical Laboratory Scientist bench duties within the laboratory, for the assigned section(s). The position performs routine and complex tests or analyses in any of these potential sections (as assigned):  Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Toxicology, Microbiology, Molecular, Mycology, Immunohematology, LIS and Lean. The position has responsibility for planning, performing and evaluating laboratory testing analysis; and establishing and/or maintaining communications with physicians, patients, other hospital personnel, professional associations, and other organizations. Bachelor's degree level position with applicants who obtained education outside of the United States must have their education evaluated for equivalency by an Acceptable Evaluation Agency for Foreign Transcripts.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited college/university that included clinical rotation. Or Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science AND completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Science program. Or Bachelor's Degree with completion of 60 semester/90 quarter hours from an accredited college/university that includes a minimum of 6 semester/9 quarter hours of chemistry, 6 semester/9 quarter hours of biology, and 12 semester/18 quarter hours of other chemistry, biology, and/or medical laboratory science courses AND at least three months full time clinical experience in all laboratory areas.     Upon hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology Or Upon hire: National Medical Technologist - American Association of Bioanalysts Or Upon hire: National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists Or Upon hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Medical Technologists 1 year In a clinical laboratory performing moderate and high complexity testing
