Job description

Looking for a Second Shift Laboratory Technician for our Clinical Toxicology Laboratory. Will perform routine duties including following SOP guidelines, preparing samples for our screening instrument and for confirmation via LCMS, loading and routine maintenance of LC/MS and other duties as assigned. Looking for a candidate to grow with the lab and move up to more complex testing and laboratory functions.

Monday through Friday 3pm-11pm

Responsibilities:

Specimen prep using manual pipetting.

Specimen prep using Tecan instrumentation, troubleshooting when necessary.

Preparing samples for loading on proper instrumentation.

Performing general instrument maintenance (AU400 and Sciex LC/MS/MS).

Following the laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing.

Perform appropriate Quality Control (QC) procedures.

Participate in proficiency testing and maintaining a record of ongoing competency.

Maintain general laboratory cleanliness.

Adhering to confidential HIPAA requirements (patient files, personal, and proprietary information).

Must adhere to all safety precautions in the lab and wear proper PPE.

May be required to assist in data entry of patient information into LIS system.

Follow and maintain chain of custody on all patient samples.

Work in a team setting to ensure timely and accurate results for clients.

Experience

Bachelor of Science in a relevant science

2+ years laboratory experience (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
