Job Summary
The PRN MLT at Moffitt Health Center will obtain patient specimens via venipuncture, finger stick, swabs, urine collection and perform laboratory testing while adhering to CLIA regulations. This role will also perform x-rays.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
+ Adheres to University and department policies, procedures, and regulations.
+ Performs laboratory analysis on selected samples for patients such as blood counts, mono test, strep test, pregnancy test, chlamydia, sickle cell, various chemistry tests, urinalysis, wet prep, KOH, etc.Obtains patient specimens via venipuncture, finger stick, swabs and urine. Assists in performing quality control checks on all testing kits and instruments. Assists in proficiency testing and maintenance of all instruments. Assists in preparing specimens for send out to reference lab. Assists in keeping records of all laboratory work done and instrument maintenance. Process, document and prepare specimens sent to the reference laboratory. Adheres to CLIA requirements and regulations.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Associates Degree and MLT certification.

Preferred Qualifications
Prefer at least 1 year experience in a clinic or hospital laboratory setting. X-ray training preferred (or willingness to be trained within first 30-60 days of employment).
