Job Summary

The medical laboratory technician is accountable for performing a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures, and related duties.  Utilizes scientific principles as well as technical, procedural, and problem-solving aptitudes for day-to-day laboratory technical operations, quality control, quality assurance, procedure/instrument maintenance and corrective action, test result correlation, and clinical laboratory related continuing education.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited two year college program or technical school required. Six months to one year of related experience or training preferred.

Certification

Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician from the ASCP, AMT, or equivalent required within 12 months of hire.

Work Schedule

Varied Shifts: 6:30am-3:00pm, 8:30am-5:00pm; 72 hours every 2 weeks Every 5th weekend Every 5th holiday Weekday/Weekend call schedule

Pay   

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$22.00 - $31.75 per hour
