MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To perform routine laboratory tests in accordance with professional and regulatory standards and guidelines

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

This position is responsible for performing various tasks required including but not limiting the following tasks:

Receive, accept, and accession specimens from laboratory. Perform a variety of blood tests and perform various coagulation tests to aid in the diagnosis of disease. Conducts technical procedures related to the counting and identification of blood cells and other specialized hematologic tests. Verifies accuracy of findings, identifies test inconsistencies, and takes appropriate action to make corrections and resolve problems. Blood Bank Technologist  perform activities such as screening blood samples, preparing transfusion components such as plasma, platelets, RBCs and updating blood bank records.

Operates, cleans, and maintains laboratory equipment used in blood analysis and procedures

REQUIRED EDUCATION

Minimum Bachelor medical laboratory sciences or related field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Experiences 3-5 years full time experience as Medical Laboratory Technologist. 

Experience in Autoimmune and Special Chemistry

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Governance and accreditation standards relevant to laboratory services Knowledgeable in laboratory equipment and testing to perform quality control checks and instrumentation troubleshooting Laboratory information systems and reporting Communication and team work Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication
