Description We are seeking a Legal Assistant in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a Legal Assistant, you will be working in a fast-paced, small office environment, primarily handling various aspects of workers' compensation & personal injury. The role involves a mix of medico-legal, pre-litigation, litigation, and social security disability duties.
Responsibilities include:
• Liaising with clients regarding doctors, hospitals, and tests, and managing outstanding medical bills/liens.
• Preparing and receiving medical requests, and maintaining detailed records of medical treatment.
• Drafting motions and complaints, and assisting with trial preparation.
• Compiling narrative reports and creating settlement memorandums.
• Setting up insurance claims and managing client relations.
• Preparing applications and appeals for social security disability, and preparing for hearings.
• Utilizing various software tools such as Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, CompuLaw, and Case Management Software for efficient processing and management.
• Demonstrating strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
• Conducting medical records review and maintaining accurate customer credit records.
• Handling billing functions and calendar management, and assisting with claim administration. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant
• Proficiency in Aderant and Adobe Acrobat
• Familiarity with Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS)
• Experience with Case Management Software and CompuLaw
• Knowledge of billing functions and calendar management
• Strong skills in claim administration and client relations
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Prior experience dealing with medical records and medical records review
• Understanding of civil litigation and plaintiff litigation
• Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and other legal professionals
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong research and report-generating skills.
