Through the passion of our specialists, we continue to treat every patient with care, compassion and respect, while providing affordable and accessible services. *Job Summary* The Medical Navigator provides safe and appropriate basic patient care and administrative duties as needed to assist patients in achieving established outcomes by collecting data points (e.g. vital signs and urine specimens) and other information to be utilized in assessment. These activities contribute to meeting the health care, safety and comfort needs of clients, and are performed in accordance with all existing regulatory, state and company standards, policies and procedures. *Job Responsibilities* 1. Obtain urine drug screens, take client vitals, and report abnormal values/trends to Medical staff. 2. Maintain supplies by managing medical department inventory and ordering as needed. Complete audits as needed. 3. Serves as a liaison between Rushford and outside contracting services, providing prompt service for all requests. 4. Schedule Medical appointments with Medical providers on Epic and Outlook. 5. Be a liaison between the Pharmacy and the patients. 6. Maintain tracker for Injections, as well as scheduling injection appt and arrange Injection delivery on site. 7. Checkout Ambulatory visits on epic. 8. Submit Medication’s prior Authorizations. 9. Ability to work independently to fulfill assigned tasks. 10. Perform other related duties as required. * High School graduate or equivalent * Diploma/Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program, OR an active CT CNA or EMT Certification, OR relative experience as outlined below * Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or Associate’s Degree in related field of substance abuse and/or mental health/preferred/ * In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of direct medical patient care may be considered * Previous experience in drug & alcohol treatment or disease concept of addiction /preferred/ * Previous experience with mental health and/or psychiatric population /preferred/ * Familiarity with Alcoholic (or Narcotics) Anonymous 12-Step Program /preferred/ * Obtain CPR certification within six months of employment.
