The Medical Office Assistant/Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for managing patient admissions, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and maintaining accurate patient records. This role ensures smooth administrative procedures and enhances patient experiences by providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:Welcoming and Assisting Patients: Greet patients in person or over the phone, and assist them with their inquiries.Scheduling Appointments: Schedule and confirm patient appointments and procedures.Patient Registration: Obtain, verify, and update patient information, including personal and insurance details.Insurance Verification: Collect and process patient insurance information, ensuring coverage and pre-approvals.Patient Flow Coordination: Coordinate with medical staff to ensure proper patient flow and timely care.Patient Data Management: Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.Patient Billing: Handle patient billing, payment processes, and financial counseling.Issue Resolution: Resolve patient issues and answer inquiries about services and procedures.Qualifications:Education: High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant diploma/certification preferred Experience: Previous experience working the front desk in a medical setting (front office medical assistant, medical office assistant, medical receptionist, patient accessSkills: Strong organizational skills, excellent communication and customer service skills, and knowledge of medical terminology.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00
