**Overview** **MEDICAL ONCOLOGIST IN REDDING CALIFORNIA** **Come join out Medical Oncology team as we embark on advancing Oncology in the North State** Shasta Cancer Care Alliance, in conjunction with Dignity Health- Mercy Medical Center is seeking board-eligible/board-certified Medical Oncology or Hematology/Oncology Physicians to join our collegial team of Oncologists and work in Dignity Health’s outpatient cancer clinics. Our center provides comprehensive oncology services to the North State Region of California from its base in Redding, California. It is the only multispecialty group providing dedicated medical, surgical, and radiation oncology services in a single location. The ideal candidate will be passionate about general medical oncology and competent in benign and malignant hematology. **COME JOIN OUR TEAM** + 5 FTE Medical Oncologists + 2 Radiation Oncologists + 1 Surgical Oncologist + Advanced Practice Providers as first point of contact for infusion and toxicity management + Dedicated scheduler, MA, scribe and nurse provided to each Medical Oncologist + 1 week of call every 4 weeks + Hybrid with 40% telehealth option available + Clinic Hours: 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday **COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION PACKAGE- $870,000+** + Guaranteed Base Salary: $770,000 + Sign On Bonus: $80,000 + Relocation Assistance up to $20,000 + Student Loan Assistance + Production Bonus for wRVU above 75th percentile **ADDITIONAL BENEFITS** + Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance. + 401k with a match of 5% + Defined benefits retirement plan to complement the 401k allowing for additional pre-tax savings. + Paid Vacation - 25 vacation days. 8 paid public holidays. With 300 days per year of sun and no shoveling snow, you're going to love Redding! **Community Setting** + Best fly fishing in Northern California + Enjoy an active lifestyle biking, hiking, kayaking, boating, fishing, hunting, and skiing + Low cost of living and some of the lowest housing costs in the state + Outdoor paradise with easy access to national parks, multiple lakes within minutes, and the Sacramento River Trail system right in the middle of town + Visit multiple local breweries and wineries or watch the symphony and local theatre + Mountain views in three directions, with no need to shovel snow! _For more information on the hospital_ : https://www.dignityhealth.org/content/dam/dignity-health/north-state/pdfs/fast-facts-redding-1.pdf **Responsibilities** Key duties of a medical oncologist: + **Patient evaluation:** Conducting thorough physical examinations, reviewing medical history, and ordering necessary diagnostic tests like biopsies to diagnose cancer. + **Treatment planning:** Analyzing test results, determining the most appropriate chemotherapy regimen based on the type and stage of cancer, and discussing treatment options with the patient. + **Chemotherapy administration:** Overseeing the administration of chemotherapy drugs, including monitoring for side effects during treatment. + **Patient education:** Explaining the diagnosis, treatment plan, potential side effects, and follow-up care to the patient and their family in a clear and understandable manner. + **Side effect management:** Actively managing side effects of chemotherapy such as nausea, fatigue, hair loss, and other complications. + **Progress monitoring:** Regularly monitoring patients through follow-up appointments, reviewing lab tests, and imaging studies to assess treatment effectiveness and adjust treatment plans if needed. + **Multidisciplinary collaboration:** Working closely with other healthcare professionals like radiation oncologists, surgeons, nurses, and social workers to provide optimal patient care. + **Clinical research:** Participating in clinical trials to evaluate new cancer treatments and therapies. **Qualifications** + **Training** : Completed an oncology fellowship program, which is usually two years long. + **Certification** : Passed the Medical Oncology Certification Examination. + **Continuing education** : Maintain certifications by taking continuing education credits. + **License** : Hold a valid, unrestricted, and unchallenged license to practice medicine. **Pay Range** $369.00 - $370.19 /hour We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
