Medical Physicist, Radiation Oncology

This position provides clinical Physics leadership in assuring that clinical operations of the Radiation Oncology Service fulfills its clinical goals. The Medical Physicist works with all participants within the Oncology service to ensure that the Cancer Center renders high quality patient care and services, including efficient patient flow/access, resolution of treatment issues, coordination of ancillary services, oversight of Medical Physics records, and enhancement of patient support and patient improvement. This position will handle compliance with environmental and radiation safety issues, and other regulations at the Cancer Center. At the direction of the Radiation Oncologist, the Medical Physicist will provide optimized computerized treatment planning documents for review and selection. He/she will confer with the Oncology Medical staff regarding patient disease to provide an optimal treatment plan. He/she will oversee quality assurance monitoring, and perform quality management processes of the Department, including chart checks, dose calculations, radiation monitoring, and equipment calibration.

Education, Work Experience and Licensure:

1. Master’s degree in Medical Physics or Radiation Physics from an accredited program or equivalent

2. Must hold a current National License or be Board eligible

3. Work experience to be evaluated and approved by Oncology Leadership Team

4. Must maintain certification and continuing education requirements outlined by American College of Radiology
