Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a MEDICAL PHYSICIST to join our RADIATION THERAPY team!

The Medical Physicist applies physics principles to diagnose and treat diseases, ensuring the safe and effective use of medical imaging and radiation therapy techniques.  You will also be involved in the direction, vision, coordination, development, planning, implementation, and may have oversight of the Radiation Oncology programs for all Aspirus-affiliated Radiation Oncology clinical sites; and is specifically accountable for all related technical aspects for each Radiation Oncology program.

HOURS: 1.0 FTE/80 hours every two weeks, mainly day shift hours

Experience/Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Medical or Radiological Physics from an AAPM accredited institution.Knowledge and experience with Varian Truebeam/Tomotherapy Accelerators and Pinnacle Treatment Planning System.ABR or ABMP certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics.AMP on recent Radioactive Materials License for usage (35.600) Remote Afterloader Units, or eligibility, experience, and known preceptor for AMP to be obtained within 6 months of date of hire.Knowledge of computer systems demonstrated through familiarity with ARIA information system by Varian, Windows operating system, client server, spreadsheets, word processing, DICOM, security protocols, basic UNIX language, internet, programming experience, and database access. Further familiarity with hardware beneficial including PCs, local area networking systems, and teleconferencing systems.Possesses excellent communication skills. Employee Benefits
