You'll handle patient calls, schedule appointments, and connect callers with the right clinical staff. Your day will be filled with varied front desk tasks, from data entry in our Electronic Management System to handling billing and insurance inquiries. You'll verify insurance details and collect payments. Plus, you'll keep patient accounts up-to-date, scan paperwork and medical records into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, and efficiently manage phone calls. Minimum Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent and two years of related experience. + Must be skilled in the operations of a medical office + Working knowledge of word processing software + Basic computer and typing skills, keyboarding + Interpersonal and communication skills + Ability to plan and organize effectively + Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines + Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others * The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s Degree, two years of general office or personnel experience (including one year in a medical office), and prior EHR experience. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with electronic medical record systems and fluency in Spanish. Experience working with individuals and communities is also desirable. Responsibilities: + Patient Phone Calls - Handle phone calls from patients who need to schedule appointments to include adding new patients, verifying demographic information and insurance. Route calls to clinical staff and enter phone notes as appropriate. + Check-In Patients at Front Desk - Verify patient demographic information, collect co-pays and past-due balances, work patient waitlist, verify insurance, register patients for portal, check patients in/out. Scan insurance cards and IDs. Assist patients with kiosk. + Other Billing Projects - Various projects that can include, but not limited to, correcting denied claims due to registration errors, contacting patients related to upcoming visits, scheduling patient for wellness visits, inputting demographics for hospital billers. Performs other duties as assigned. What you need to know Salary: Starting at $15.85/hr. Schedule: This is a full-time position from 7am - 5pm Monday - Thursday, 8am-12pm Friday, with occasional extended hours. Why Texas A&M University?
