Medical Record Director
Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Director to join our team at Elevate Care. As the Medical Records Director, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and complete medical records in compliance with state and federal regulations. You will work closely with healthcare staff to ensure timely and efficient documentation and play a critical role in supporting quality patient care. Key Responsibilities + Maintain, organize, and secure medical records to ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations. + Review and process incoming medical documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness. + Ensure records are updated in a timely manner to reflect patient care and treatment plans. + Facilitate record requests and releases in compliance with applicable laws and policies. + Prepare and maintain logs, indexes, and reports related to medical records. + Conduct periodic audits of medical records to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. + Collaborate with nursing and administrative staff to address documentation issues or concerns. + Assist with the preparation of medical records for surveys, audits, or legal reviews. + Train staff on proper documentation and medical Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or certification in Health Information Management preferred. + Experience in medical records management, preferably in a long-term care or nursing home setting. + Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology. + Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems. + Excellent organizational and time-management skills. + Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify errors or inconsistencies. + Effective communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
