Responsibilities JOB KNOWLEDGE Demonstrates sufficient knowledge to independently perform the primary duties of the position Making, receiving, and directing phone calls. Maintaining medical records operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes; accurately filing and retrieving medical records Interacting with admitting areas and physicians’ offices; creates record folders. Answering telephone inquires appropriately. Ensuring medical record availability by routing records to physicians and other authorized hospital staff maintaining chart location system. Assembling medical records. Analyzes completion of medical records, records all deficiencies and assigns appropriate area for completion. Maintaining chart location and deficiency systems The essential function of this job requires attendance at the work place. Adheres to and supports the established policies of the facility. Attends continuing education programs specific to area of practice. Reports to work on time as scheduled, and punctual in returning from meals and breaks. Works overtime as requested (assigned) by supervisor due to workload or staffing shortages. Maintains a clean, neat, safe work area Cultural Values Assessment and Response. Recognizes, respects, and effectively deals with values and cultural beliefs of patients and their families. COMMUNICATION Receives and relays appropriate information accurately and quickly Maintains confidentiality of patient’s Protected Health Information. Maintains a good working relationship with other departments in order to convey and receive information on a regular basis. Notifies supervisor of unusual conditions or problems in the facility. Demonstrates ability to represent Treasure Valley Hospital in a favorable and positive manner. Qualifications License or Certification: High School diploma or GED equivalent. Total Education, Vocational Training, and Experience: Experience in a medical office or hospital setting Knowledge of medical terminology Computer knowledge to include Excel, Word, Outlook. Knowledge of Cerner Powerchart (Preferred). USD $18.00/Hr. USD $21.00/Hr.
