Job Title: Medical SchedulerJob Description
The medical scheduler will monitor providers' orders, identify patient information, verify all processes for timely scheduling, and work with other facilities to ensure that all orders from the provider are complete for accurate treatment. This role involves coordinating care for patients with a variety of diagnoses, ranging from blood disorders to complex cancer diagnoses. The scheduler will assist patients via telephone in coordinating treatment and appointments, including office visits, treatments, labs, and imaging, with an emphasis on complete care coordination scheduling.
Responsibilities
+ Assist patients in scheduling office visits, treatments, and scans according to orders from the provider.
+ Schedule orders in queue in a timely manner.
+ Effectively communicate and work with team members to ensure a smooth workflow.
+ Maintain the appointment reminder phone system.
+ Cross-train in other areas, such as Prior Authorization.
+ Ensure all processes have been completed for timely scheduling.
Essential Skills
+ At least 2 years of previous experience in a medical office setting, including experience with scheduling, electronic medical records, and practice management systems.
+ Excellent customer service skills.
+ Ability to maintain organization while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bilingual capabilities (additional $1 differential).
+ Good CSR attitude and proven attendance record.
Work Environment
This role is based in the oncology department, working with a team of other schedulers at a business office in downtown Salem. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.
