Job Description

About This Role: As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) - SMA at our esteemed biotechnology organization, you will be an integral member of our medical affairs team, focusing on Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). In this dynamic role, you will be the foundation of our customer engagement strategy, interacting directly with Key Medical Experts, Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), and key academic institutions. Your responsibility will be to articulate the clinical and scientific narrative for our therapies, ensuring deep understanding and confidence in clinical decision-making. This role is pivotal in advancing medical practice within the field of neuroscience and contributing to our mission of enhancing patient care. As an MSL, you will foster strategic, long-term relationships and be seen as a collaborative partner rather than a transactional contact. Your insights and expertise will guide our clinical and medical strategies and keep us at the forefront of medical innovations.

What You’ll Do:

Engage with key stakeholders as a credible and trusted medical/scientific expert, enhancing their confidence in clinical decisions for patient care.Provide tailored, credible, and unbiased scientific information aligned with each customer's needs and Biogen's clinical and medical strategies.Build and maintain valued long-term relationships with customers, developing scientific advocates for our neuroscience ambitions.Stay abreast of therapy advances, current research, and detailed knowledge of Biogen products and relevant Disease Areas.Extract and share high-value medical insights to shape Biogen's medical and clinical strategies.Collaborate compliantly with cross-functional teams, particularly with the Commercial organization, while maintaining the non-promotional nature of the role.Lead educational initiatives to enhance Biogen’s reputation as a trusted and valued partner.Creatively leverage multichannel opportunities for customer engagement and education.Contribute to brand planning processes using extensive knowledge of disease areas, competitive environments, and customer needs.

Required Skills:

Advanced Scientific or Clinical degree (PharmD or PhD level desired).At least two years of experience as a high-specialty( rare diseases, neurological disorders, genetics) MSL in the pharmaceutical industry is required or strong history of study in Neuromuscular Diseases.Proficiency in English with fluent proficiency preferred.Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate complex medical information effectively.Proven track record of building long-term, strategic relationships within the medical community.Strong understanding of compliance and ethical guidelines in the pharmaceutical industry.Ability to travel at least 60% of the time, including overnight and occasional weekend travel. Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.Authorization and ability to drive a company leased vehicle or rental.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in neuroscience and/or SMA therapeutic areas.Demonstrated ability to navigate multichannel engagement opportunities.Strong strategic planning and insight generation skills.

Additional Information

Based in Mexico City, able to travel to Monterrey and some cities in the north of the country;, Querétaro, Toluca, Morelia, Aguascalientes
