The medical scribe is to assist the physician by accurately documenting the physician's encounter with the patient as they are being performed. Anticipate physician needs to facilitate the flow of the clinic practice. Support the physician with other department specific duties.
Education and Work Experience:
1. One or two years of experience in the health care field, OR
2. Any similar combination of education and experience.
OR
1. Licensed allied health professional RN, LPN, RMA, CMA, or certified/registered technician such as orthopedic, surgical, ophthalmic, pharmacy or
2. Medical assisting with 2 years or more nursing experience or
3. Associate degree or higher degree in an associated field of study
4. Prior experience scribing in a medical practice setting preferred, but not required.
Knowledge and Skills
Prior knowledge of health care vocabulary and processes. Effective oral and written communication skills including grammar and spelling. Excellent interpersonal skills. Computer literacy. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Self-directed work ethic. Detail-oriented. Dependable.
