Under general supervision, the Medical Staff Coordinator proactively initiates and coordinates medical staff activities.  Provides and demonstrates ongoing expertise in Joint Commission, CMA, State, Federal and other regulatory requirements affecting the medical staff organization. Processes initial applications, reappointments, verification of all pertinent and required information and follow-up.

Required Qualifications: 

3 years - Medical Staff or Administrative Services (may combine years in an accredited Medical Staff Services Science Program). 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Coursework/Training - Two years of college, preferably in medical staff or medical records science. Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification from National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) upon hire.
