This position is responsible for participating in and overseeing the ordering, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and shipping of equipment, materials and supplies for various departments. This position is not responsible for providing care to patients.

Responsibilities Orders, receives and oversees material, equipment, stock and supplies for the organization.Uses the department's computer system to maintain verification of all transactions.Maintains a record of stock received and issued to departments.Researches cost, quality and availability of goods, selects the appropriate goods and vendors, and then makes purchases that comply with the department's budgetary guidelines.Inspects and verifies that received stock meets specifications and that orders are complete.Resolves order problems with vendors and departments, as necessary.Stores articles by style, size, material, etc. according to departmental procedures.Rotates supplies to ensure that items do not expire before use.Delivers goods to the appropriate areas on a routine or STAT basis.Repairs and maintains storeroom equipment and appropriately responds to product recall notices.Maintains a clean, sanitary and orderly storeroom.Performs inventory of stock room supplies on a weekly and semi-annual basis.Performs various clerical duties such as data entry of requisitions and receipts and answering phones.Answers staff questions regarding storeroom activities, as required, to ensure that quality service is delivered.Assists staff in evaluating new products and suggests product substitutions when necessary.Performs other duties, as assigned.May order maintenance and parts for trouble reports received from various departments.May be required to evaluate supply needs turnover rates, cost, perish-ability, hazardous nature of goods and storage limitations.May consult with departments in planning the range and quality of materials to be stocked.May monitor the storeroom budget.May compile orders for purchasing and verify the receipt of orders with Accounts Payable.May oversee the delivery or distribution of goods by filling requisitions and comparing nomenclature, stock numbers, etc.May handle the packaging and shipping of packages.May make decisions regarding the physical layout of the storeroom.May supervise inventory maintenance and determine redistribution actions for stored goods when necessary.May document storeroom operations for billing and inventory control.Knowledge / Skills / AbilitiesDemonstrated potential ability to perform the essential functions as outlined above.Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.Demonstrated knowledge of standard warehousing rules and techniques.Demonstrated computer literacy.Demonstrated mathematical skills. Qualifications QualificationsRequiredSix (6) months of customer service, shipping and receiving or stock room experience, or the equivalency. Qualifications (Preferred) PreferredValid, current Utah driver's license with proof of insurability.Current food handler's permit.Completion of a medical terminology course within one year of employment.Previous storeroom supervision and employee leadership experience.Working Conditions and Physical Demands
