Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located at the Soldier Recovery Unit, in Schofield Barracks, HI. The Medical Support Assistant performs a wide variety of administrative management duties under the general supervision of the Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU) Supervisor Nurse Case Manager. Responsibilities Perform a wide variety of administrative management duties under the general supervision of the Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU) Supervisor Nurse Case Manager. Assist the supervisor and other Case Managers through data collection, analysis, developing, and implementing the case management program for SRU Soldiers in the Army Recovery Care Program (ARCP). Independently, plan and carry out assignments to include performance of other administrative and automation service duties in support of the medical management program. Obtain and present data and provision of advice necessary for the proper functioning and management of the organization, assigned/attached Soldiers, cadre and staff. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated hospital systems to enter, manipulate and/or retrieve information and data; scheduling patient appointments for a medical treatment facility; and assisting in the evaluation or monitoring of case management services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted Additional Information Recruitment, Retention and/or Relocation Incentives are not authorized.
