We are seeking a Medical Surgical LPN, sometimes referred to as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays an important role our hospital by providing hands-on care to patients recovering from surgery, managing chronic or acute illnesses, or undergoing diagnostic procedures. Working alongside RNs, physicians, and other healthcare team members to provide patient care our hospital's medical-surgical (Med-Surge) unit, LPNs focus on assisting with patient care and ensuring comfort and safety.

           

Employment Type: Part Time 

Shifts Available: Nights 

Location: Providence Medical Center - Kansas City, KS

** If you have recently graduated or about to graduate as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), with no experience you are encouraged to apply.  Entry-Level LPN  opening, willing to train the right LPN / LVN!

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

Measure and record blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturationHelp patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and toiletingAssist with turning, positioning, and ambulating patients to prevent bedsores and promote recoveryObserve patients for side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report findings to an RN or physicianMonitor patients for changes in condition (e.g., pain levels, skin color, or behavior)Recognize early warning signs of complications and report them to an RN or physicianPrepare patients for tests or procedures by ensuring they understand the process and are physically readyTeach patients and families about basic post-discharge care, such as wound care, medication schedules, and managing chronic conditionsWork under the supervision of RNs and report directly to them regarding patient care issues Qualifications

Current and valid state licenseCurrent BLS certificate upon hire and maintain currentIV certification upon hire (state specific)
