Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related field (biological or chemical sciences) is required. Will consider candidates with an Associate’s degree in laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution who meet CLIA’88 high-complexity testing requirements.Prefers graduation from an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician program and passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). One to two years experience in a generalist role is preferred.Additional Requirements:
Precision and accuracy in performing laboratory procedures.Keen judgment to evaluate information against measurable criteria in the performance of tests. Visual acuity to read instructions and examine specimens. Form perception and color discrimination to identify cells and micro-organisms. Manual dexterity to operate equipment.About the Job:
Assist the Section Supervisor in resolving equipment problems, oversee the teaching and evaluation of students and new employees, and have expertise with specific Laboratory procedures or Laboratory instrumentation.Perform routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on all types of blood and body fluid specimens under minimal supervision.Ensures accurate and reliable test results by adhering to a strict quality control program. Perform instrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures according to department’s policies and procedures.
