**Join our Labcorp Quality Assurance department as a Medical Technologist in** **Madison, WI.** **The Medical Technologist** **will focus on:** + Analyzing, testing, and performing quality control for all specimens + This is a fast-paced environment where attention to detail is key **The essential job duties are:** + Perform assigned clinical laboratory testing accurately and in a timely manner + Retrieve and check specimens against pending list. Document and resolve any specimen discrepancies. Notify laboratory management when specimen discrepancies are not resolved + Prepare workstation and instrumentation for the assigned testing + Receive, open and place in service all reagents according to SOPs + Prepare and properly label reagents and document according to SOPs + Resolve routine and non-routine assay problems + Perform parallel testing, reagent validation, linearity’s, and stability studies + Process and ship samples according to study specific instructions + Evaluates and solves problems related to the collection and processing of specimens + Ensure the validity of test results through the performance of established quality control procedures. Interpret quality control results according to established departmental procedures. Document quality control results. + Reports the quality control results to the management, troubleshoots, and takes corrective actions on questionable or out-of-limit results. Documents all corrective actions and submits them for review by the management. + Prepare proper documentation of test results and enter into the information system + Complete testing within the expected turnaround time to meet customers’ expectations + Calibrate instruments / assays as required, troubleshoot and document + Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment. Handles hazardous materials, reagents and chemicals in a safe manner according to SOP + Actively participate in new assay validations according to SOPs + Perform weekly QC/PM review + Other duties as assigned **Education/Experience** + Associate's degree in clinical pathology or medical technology + American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification required + Strong attention to detail **Benefits:** All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
