Medical Technologist

**This is a regular, full-time position at the McAlester Clinic's Laboratory | Schedule is M-F 8-4:30**

**Job Purpose or Objective(s):** Provide accurate and timely information in testing patient specimens and assures integrity of the entire analytical process.
**Primary Tasks:**
1. Perform testing and reports results in an accurate and timely manner.
2. Maintain phlebotomy skills for all age groups. Maintains specimen integrity and assures patient specimens are stored properly.
3. Repeat results with critical values for confirmation and follows “Read Back” policy to verify called report was accurately received.
4. Review results to assure exactness, quality and accuracy. Consults with Lab Supervisor or Department Head as appropriate for testing policy and or procedure.
5. Maintain proper storage and dating of reagents.
6. Communicates concerns, problems and unusual findings to supervisor.
7. Other duties as assigned within scope and competency of the associate.
**Required Education, Skills and Experience:**
MINIMUM
+ Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology or related field
+ Medical Laboratory Technician Certification
+ Knowledge and capability to of performing daily maintenance on instruments
+ Understanding of the basic workflow of the laboratory
+ Knowledge of all lab instruments and equipment, and performs QC, maintenance and minor repairs
+ Prioritize work assignments and accomplishes tasks in an organized fashion
