**Medical Technologist II- Portland, OR- on site**
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast paced, busy environment for a leading global provider of outsourced development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. Our Medical Technologist will ensure the Laboratory is meeting the highest quality standards. Perform the general technical assignments and testing in the Laboratory Department in accordance with current procedures and quality standards.
**Overview of the Role:**
+ Demonstrate education and experience commensurate with performance of pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing procedures using molecular methods, techniques, and equipment
+ Analyze result data for results reporting per study guidelines
+ Deliver results within the expected time period
+ Perform one or more methods including nucleic acid extraction, quantitative/qualitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR), RNA/DNA sequencing
+ Verify and ensure specimen integrity and continuity throughout all testing steps
+ Perform critical quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of clinical data
+ Validate test results through correlation with test parameters
+ Complete routine instrument and equipment preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
+ Train newer laboratory technologists in the use of proper techniques and procedures related to good clinical laboratory practice
+ Effectively work independently and as a member of an dynamic, integrated team
+ Be flexible and able to multi-task while working efficiently in a fast-paced, demanding work environment
+ Be experienced with Word and Excel applications
+ Demonstrate proficiency of verbal and written communication skills
+ Demonstrate ongoing skill competency and fulfill annual training/continuing education requirements
**To succeed you will need:**
You will possess a bachelor’s degree along with a minimum of 5 years' experience successfully performing as a Technologist in a molecular biology laboratory. A MB(ASCP), MT(ASCP) certification or eligibility for certification is preferred.
