Job Description:

Medical Technologist-Lab-Full-Time

Prepare, perform and record test procedures in accordance with established criteria as assigned and optimizes patient safety with minimal medical/health care errors in any or all the sections of the Clinical Laboratory.Performs specimen collection procedures as needed, i.e. phlebotomy collectionsPromotes good public relations and professional attitude for laboratory department and facilityAssists in departmental training of new employees and studentsEnsures operation of analyzers and other laboratory equipment by calibrating; performing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques  All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives. Adheres to specific hospital policy and procedures.

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited program of Medical Technology or related science; successful completion of School for Medical Technology/ Clinical Laboratory Science.Four years of college with courses pertaining to biology, chemistryPrevious experience in a clinical laboratory is desirable.
