Essential Duties and Responsibilities\:Maintains specialized knowledge in the areas of chemistry, hematology, coagulation, microbiology, urinalysis, immunology, and immunohematology (Blood bank and Transfusion medicine)Performs highly complex testingPerforms technical laboratory analysis in the areas of chemistry, hematology, coagulation, microbiology, urinalysis, immunology, and immunohematology (Blood bank and Transfusion medicine)Performs calibration, correlation, linearities, verifications and validations per instrument/test specificationsAble to recognize test abnormalitiesPerforms work accurately and thoroughly by being meticulousEnsures the distribution of associated test information and results in a manner consistent with department standards, regulatory standards, and turnaround time criteriaEnsures the proper functioning of laboratory instrumentation by performing required quality controls, maintenance, documentation and troubleshooting proceduresEvaluates specimen quality for testing as deemed appropriate per test methodDemonstrates ability to use the laboratory information system(s)Complies with all laboratory policies/proceduresComplies with OSHA regulations regarding laboratory safetyComplies with all HIPPA regulationsCommunicates effectively verbally and in writing while client-driven (friendly)Demonstrates personal competency by successful performance of proficiency surveys and department competencies as assignedExhibits organizational skills that support the operational objectives of the departmentMaintains knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to all customersDisplays positive teamwork and collaborationWorks effectively under stressful situationsAdapts to change with an open mindPerforms other duties as assigned

Education\:

Bachelor’s degree with specialized training in medical technology or related field. Certified as a MT by ASCP, NCA, or State License Board and keep active while employed at CMH Regional Health System.

Preferred Experience\:1-2 years of clinical experience
