With more than 600 healthcare professionals strong, our facility offers inpatient, outpatient, surgical and emergency care for Cedar Park and the greater Austin region._ **This is a full time position working Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm with rotating weekends.** **Position Overview** Our laboratory is growing and we are seeking an experienced Medical Technologist Lead to join our team! This is a full time position working Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm with rotating weekends. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of microbiology and/or medical technologist experience. The Medical Technologist Lead performs routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on all types of blood and body fluid specimens, ensuring accurate and reliable test results by adhering to a strict quality control program. **Responsibilities** + Follows laboratory procedure for specimen collection, handling and processing which is appropriate to the age of the patient + Uses two patient identifiers during collection, receiving, and test processing + Monitors possible effects of pre-analytical variables and follows laboratory procedures for handling specimens that adversely affect test results + Reports test results accurately + Recognizes factors that affect measurements and results and take appropriate action to resolve the issues + Communicate and document relevant patient laboratory testing data including critical result to appropriate healthcare provider for patient’s continuum of care in a timely manner + Check and troubleshoot outstanding tests list in a timely manner.
